The Minnehaha County Human Services Office provides the support necessary to insure the survival of indigent clients who are County residents or transients. Services which are available include: assistance with rent, food, utility bills, laundry, clothing, transportation, burials, non-food items, dental bills, medical bills, and hospital bills. The office also assists clients with locating alternative resources and referrals to other agencies for social services, such as Children's Inn, Mission, Mental Health, Catholic Social Services, Lutheran Social Services, and American Indian Services. In addition, the County maintains emergency on-call services through the 211 HELPLINE. County assistance is provided only when other resources have been exhausted. The after hours emergency number is 211HELPLINE.
